We seek a world of hope and tolerance.
Who we are
Health Actions Promotion Association (HAPA) is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization established in 2000 after the closure of Health Projects Abroad (HPA), a British NGO.
How we work
HAPA is structured to ensure transparency and accountability through its Annual General Meeting, Board of Directors, and Management Team, all guided by the HAPA Constitution. .
Its impacts, such as irregular rainfall, droughts, and floods, threaten food security, water availability, and livelihoods.
HAPA promotes good governance by empowering rural communities to actively participate in planning, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
HAPA empowers marginalized groups, including women and unemployed youth, by promoting income-generating activities and equipping them with essential skills.
HAPA is committed to increasing access to quality education and improving the learning environment, especially in underserved rural areas.
HAPA ensures community awareness and the adoption of best practices in Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH), and improved access to health services.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) are critical to improving health, education, and economic outcomes, especially in rural Tanzania, where access to clean water and proper sanitation remains limited.
